Here you will find my views and opinions on the world that is Prog Rock. Having been submersed in the genre for over 25 years I have seen it go from a formidable force in the music world to an underground scene and back to the surface. It’s coming back stronger than ever and the music is getting globally better recognition and albums thought long lost are now seeing the light of day. This is my Canadian perspective, opinions and reviews on really good music.

Play in a Prog band and would like to see your album on here? If you would like to send me your bio, a couple of pics live or promos along with your demos or albums or a link where I can download them and I will gladly write about it for you to publish on Facebook, Twitter or wherever else you would like to! Have suggestions for bands and albums you’d like to see reviewed? Email me here; “progressivelyso@gmail.com” and I’ll see what I can do for you asap!

Great pics. I love prog rock, especially the works of classic 70s bands such as Pink Floyd, Genesis or King Crimson. Looking forward to reading more from this blog.

      1. Oh yes! Now…correct me if I’m wrong…but was John Wetton involved at all with King Crimson? Before Asia? I’ve always wondered about this.

John Wetton was in KC for sure! Asia wasn’t until the early 80’s. John Wetton was bassist/singer for the Crims as of mid-’72 to July ’74 and they did a few albums along the way. Prior to that was Boz Burrel on bass/vox(later bass on Bad Company) and Gordon Haskell before that and then Greg Lake(ELP fame) who sang on the Gary Godbear drawn cover you initially asked about and most of the 2nd Lp!

Wetton stills performs to this day and has said that he does more “hard” work as far as recording/writing and booking shows than he ever did with KC! Good on him! Great vocalist and bassist!

Funny thing when Asia first went on tour…. they only had 47 minutes of music to play! They ended up replaying some of the songs to fill in time!
